KADIN and the National Energy Transition Task Force Sign MoU to Accelerate Energy Transition and Low-Carbon Economy in the Electricity Sector


Jakarta, September 5, 2024 – At the Indonesia Sustainability Forum 2024 held at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), represented by Shinta W. Kamdani, Vice Chairperson for Maritime, Investment, and Foreign Affairs, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Edo Mahendra, Chairperson of the Support Team for the National Energy Transition Task Force in the Electricity Sector (Indonesia Energy Transition Implementation Joint Office). This MoU aims to accelerate energy transition and develop a low-carbon economy within Indonesia's electricity sector.


This agreement highlights the commitment of both parties to promote sustainable clean energy initiatives and foster a more environmentally friendly economy. The scope of the collaboration includes:


  • Development of the Indonesia Energy Transition Channel, covering initiatives in green industry development, renewable energy manufacturing, and energy distribution.
  • Ongoing strategic dialogues to address key issues in accelerating energy transition and low-carbon economy.
  • Enhancement and development of the necessary capacity for effective MoU implementation.
  • Other collaborative activities aligned with each party’s roles and responsibilities under applicable regulations.


This MoU signing is expected to strengthen the synergy between the private sector and government in realizing a sustainable and globally competitive Indonesia in energy transition and low-carbon economy initiatives.
